Successful Completion of the 2007 Shanghai International Navigation Industrial and Technological Development Forum

The grand conference of the navigation industry in China—the 2007 Shanghai International Navigation Industrial and Technological Development Forum (NaviForum 2007) was successfully held in Shanghai from December 5 to December 7, 2007. Having taking place for four times, this forum is the international conference in the navigation industry of China with the highest standard, the largest scale and a complete coverage of the industrial chain, and also the only international navigation conference organized by the Chinese government. The forum had Cao Jianlin, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, Min Yiren, Deputy Director of the State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping, and Yang Dinghua, Vice Mayor of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, as its honorary chairmen. The total number of guests participating in the forum exceeded 700. Over 90 representatives of domestic and overseas automobile manufacturers including nine automobile magnates and major Chinese automobile brands and over 40 representatives in major telecommunications carriers such as China Mobile participated in the forum. The speakers on the forum were made up of 71 top authoritative figures from governments, academic circles and the business world. The forum was co-hosted by the Department of High and New Technology Development and Industrialization, Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, the Department of Map Management of the State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping and the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality. Shanghai AutoNavi Software Co., Ltd. was one of the producers of the forum.
