NavigationForum Shanghai 2006 was organized and produced by AutoNavi, with success.
NavigationForum Shanghai 2006 took place successfully in Shanghai from Nov.16 to Nov. 17, 2006.. The Chinese government attaches great importance to Navigation/Telematics industry, and determines to develop related service system in the near future.
As cosponsors, the Ministry of Science and Technology, State Bureau of Surveying & Mapping, Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality consider NavigationForum as key project in the field, and would like to build it a first-class event in the world wide.
There were 618 professionals both from China and overseas on NavigationForum 2006, including 118 overseas attendees and 70 Chinese government officials. Some of the officials were from higher authorities: they were Mr. Jianlin Cao, Vice Minister of Ministry of Science & Technology; Ms. Junqi Yan, Vice Mayor of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government; Mr. Jingrong Xie, Vice Director General of State Bureau of Surveying & Mapping, etc.
With special support from SAE China and China Mobile, many industrial giants gathered here. There were 46 attendees from automobile manufactories, eg, Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (Group), General Motors, Volkswagen, BMW, Benz, Nissan, Honda, Ford etc. Besides, nearly 50 attendees were from wireless carriers; for instance, China Mobile, China Unicom, China Netcom, China Telecom, China SATCOM etc.
There were totally 88 speakers, including 36 from overseas. Besides 43 keynote speeches, there were also 7 panel discussions on themes such as Galileo Project Cooperation, China BD Satellite Navigation, Telematics, LBS etc.
The exhibition of navigation products, which was collocated with NavigtionForum was well received by the audience. According to the statistics, exhibition audience reached 2000 person-times during the 2 forum day. At the exhibition, audience could not only have a good look at a number of latest navigation products, and also put their hand on them to feel the “magic” which would make life much convenience. About 78.4% of the audience described their evaluation of the NaviWorld Exhibition as “very satisfactory” and “satisfactory”.
The average satisfaction rate for all speeches is above 70%, While the overall satisfaction rate for NavigationForum 2006 is up to 80.7%, above 80% attendees promised to attend NavigationForum 2007 next year.
